View caliper rebuild instructions.
This kit includes the following to rebuild two complete calipers:
- 12 ea. pressure seals (30mm)
- 12 ea. EPDM dust boots (30mm) - Dust boots in this kit are made of EPDM (Black) which is the standard material as OE and has a temperature range of up to 300F
- 12 ea. silicon high temperature dust boots* (OPTIONAL)
- 12 ea. stainless steel pistons (30mm)
*Higher temperature (450F) boots (Blue) made of Silicon can be chosen for tracking purpose (per option above), however extreme caution must be exercised to avoid those high temp boots in contact with ake fluid, or pre-mature rupture (see pic below) will occur due to the material in-compatibility.
Notice that these RacingBrake caliper rebuild components do not include and do not need shims. Eliminating the need for shims lowers overall cost and more importantly allows more direct positive torque transmission resulting in better aking.
These stainless steel pistons are excellent upgrade from your stock aluminum pistons, not only they are stronger and more rigid than aluminum, they will not corrode and can transmit more ake torque but with less heat (about 1/10) than stock aluminum pistons.
Our pistons also have vents to further prevent heat transfer to fluid, allow you to run your ake system at lower temperature which means less replacement on ake fluid, and eliminate the use of titanium shims saving you down time, operating and maintenance cost.
